The kids are almost out of school, which means road trip season is just around the corner. Road trips can bring the family closer together and create great memories, but they can also turn into a disaster if you're not prepared. Here's a few things to prepare for before hitting the road in your Dodge or Ram.
1. Check your battery
Make sure the battery in your Dodge or Ram is in good, working condition. You'll want to ensure that the terminals are clean and the battery is strong. If it's on the verge of going out, get it replaced before your trip. There are few things worst than being stuck on the side of the hot road in the middle of nowhere.
2. Inspect your tires
Make sure the tires on your Dodge or Ram have a good amount of treat remaining. According to Consumer Reports, "The easiest way to measure this, if you don't have a gauge, is to hold a quarter upside down in the tread. If the top of George Washington’ head is visible, you need new tires to ensure traction in all weather conditions."
3. Pack for emergencies
Hopefully nothing bad happens, but it's smart to pack supplies in case of an emergency. Recommend items to pack in your Ram or Dodge on a road trip include a first aid kit, blankets, flashlight, ibuprofen, water and snacks.
4. Be ready for kids
Even an ipad can only keep kids entertained for so long. Pack activities and snacks to keep your kids happy in the back of your Dodge or Ram. Good items to bring include Where's Waldo books, I Spy books, coloring books and magnet games.
Being prepared will ensure a much more enjoyable road trip for both you and your family!
