While our team at Larry H. Miller Dodge Ram Avondale is never excited to report on the news of a recall, we also find it incredibly important for our customers in the greater Avondale, AZ area and beyond to understand the ramifications of such an issue. Unfortunately Fiat Chrysler has reason to believe that 2015 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks are susceptible to a steering problem - which could potentially result in a dangerous accident:
"The affected vehicles may have inadequate welds securing the front track-bar frame brackets, possibly resulting in the bracket components separating from the frame," said the NHTSA in its recall summary. "If the bracket components separate from the frame, the vehicle may have a reduced response to steering input, increasing the risk of a crash."
Thankfully there has been no accidents or injuries due to this issue, and Fiat Chrysler hopes to have the affected models repaired - free of charge. If you're an owner of one of these two trucks, come into our showroom to meet with our service department and have your Ram inspected for the issue. There has yet to be a date set on the recall, but our team of expert mechanics will add a new track-bar frame bracket or replace the frame of the affected models as soon as it goes into effect.
